Grandma: [left the room with Brad to let Peepers n Duke rest, then made their way to the lounge area where her handmaidens r waiting, then tells them] Go ask the manager to get us some refreshments. U know wat I like, ladies
Ladies: (nod) (go to do so)
Brad: ...What...did happen with my parents...? And what did mom...?
Grandma: [sighed] I suppose u deserve to know the truth. U see, aftr our family n the Moonbrights founded this planet, wen it reached our generation, we decided instead of a divided rule, we were to unite our families under one n become truly a Starbright family as the namesake of this planet, n we decided tht ur mother n their son Daemon will be the one to unite the families together
Brad: Mhm?
Grandma: Bt unfortunately ur mother didn't want to be married to Daemon. Ur mother has always been a free spirit, following her heart, which ur grandpapa nvr agreed with. She fell in love with our stable boy Elias n they both eloped on the day she n Daemon was supposed to be engaged
Brad: (think)
Grandma: She was missing for a couple of yrs wen she eloped with Elias, then returned home one day carrying u in her arms. Elias died during a mining accident n she had no one else to turn to. Ur grandpapa didn't want to take her in at first, bt I persuaded him, saying tht ur still at least half a Starlight, n tht we can still make the pact with the Moonbrights by pairing u with one of their grandchild Demurra born frm their other son Diablo
Brad: Demurra... (sighed) I haven't behaved the best towards her when she didn't fully like me...but at east I'm still able to be her friend now.
Grandma: Oh, u met her already? How is she?
Brad: She's a queen now, with dragon husband and three kids.
Grandma: Oh my, she sure works fast (giggle) Well, we all had high hopes u two would be together. U two were inseparable, the best of friends, n we hoped u two would fall in love somehow before we announce both of ur engagement to each other, bt sadly... Ur mother... :(
Brad: Did she...? :(
Grandma: [sighed] :( Ur mother nvr got over the death of ur father. Due to her depression, she got it in her head that ur grandpapa orchestrated the mining accident to kill him. She plotted to overthrow ur grandpapa to make u king. She tried to seduce Daemon, woo him n get him into helping her assassinate ur grandpapa, bt Daemon was loyal to his n our family. He exposed her to us, n ur grandpapa ordered u n ur mother to be exiled separately n left for dead

Grandma: I'm not sure if ur mother's suspicions were right, coz I know ur grandpapa is capable of anything he set his mind to, n now tht he's dead, we'll nvr know wat reli happened, if ur father reli died in an accident or was it ur grandpapa's plan all along to kill him... :(
Brad: ... (embraced her) ;(
Grandma: [held him close] Remember the day we left u on Planet Vitrex? Remember tht I told u to keep the headpiece safe n be strong so tht u can win bk Demurra's heart? I think tht sorta set ur path to becoming who u are now
Brad: Did it? But I've acted like such a jerk to Demurra back then...
Grandma: Why? Wat did u do? Wat happened aftr we left u on Planet Vitrex? I remember u were so young bk then, barely reached ur pre-teen yrs...
Brad: I kind of developed a strong liking for fairy tale stories, mostly about a prince defeating a monster and saving the princess. And it didn't really turn out so well with Demurra. ^^;;
Grandma: Oh my, u didn't hurt her or anything, did u?
Brad: No, but she did hogtie me. ^^;; However, I did disrespect her feelings about the life she was happy with...
Grandma: How did u manage to locate her anyways, or evn knew abt her getting married? If I'm not mistaken, we exiled u pretty far away, n Demurra was still here on Planet Starbright wen u left
Brad: I ran into some furry orange alien and his blue Zbornak, sort of asking for their help.
Grandma: N they were the ones who helped u find out abt Demurra's whereabouts?
Brad: (nod) Yeah.
Grandma: (giggle) They sound like an interesting bunch. Too bad u n Demurra couldn't be together, u two would've looked great, n I guess aftr u left, Demurra had gotten ovr u n moved on, I suppose maybe we went ahead of ourselves n assumed tht she'd fall for u eventually n not someone else
Brad: She did love me...?
Grandma: I suspect she might've, at one point, or maybe a crush, frm wat we can observe, bt I guess u two r probably not meant to be anyways. Well, I'm glad at least u managed to survive Planet Vitrex n end up where u hv n with who ur with now. Peepers, right?
Brad: :) Yeah, Peepers. And um... I'm starting to lean away from this prince stuff and move on to a different hobby now, leaning towards artwork.
Grandma: Oh, u hv? Ur mother always said u got a knack for drawing wen u two were with us, Gob rest her soul... :(
Brad: Yeah... (sees the ladies coming back)
Grandma: [made way a bit for the handmaidens to set the refreshments on the table] Thank u, ladies. Now go wait outside or take a walk, my grandson n I still need some catching up to do
Ladies: (nod) (do so)
Brad: Hmm...Did you by any chance know I was... Bi?
Grandma: Ur grandpapa had suspected it, I just chose to ignore it, I suppose. He came complaining one day tht he saw u being a little too close to the kitchen boy, n he had him fired. He wanted to give ur mother a piece of his mind abt not "raising u right" bt I just told him tht it'll pass, tht it's just a phase. I knw it sounds bad wen I say it now... :(
Brad: :( You weren't...willing to support me...?
Grandma: Well, more like I thought if I ignored it long enough, u'll get ovr it, n maybe if the pact btwn us n the Moonbrights went well n u n Demurra got married, it'll go away altogether. I realize now times hv changed, bt sometimes old habits die hard...
Brad: Yeah...
Grandma: Bt look at u now, all mature n grown up, n now having a wife n child. U did great, sweetcakes, ur mother would've been so proud of u :)
Brad: ... :) Yeah, she would've had.
Grandma: Actually I also came here to ask u something
Brad: ? What?
Grandma: I was wondering if... well, if u wanna come bk here n stay, for good. Maybe evn take ovr the throne
Brad: But Chad's been made the king...?
Grandma: He's still a prince, n still a running candidate. Nothing was set in stone, he's still groomed for it. Ur technically the eldest, n the rightful heir. Chad, aftr seeing ur grandpapa behave tht way, said he wasn't sure if he'd be cut out for it, n tht his seat is urs if u want to take it. There will be the courts of the Moonbrights involved as well along with our courts, since we both run this planet, bt by right, u too hv the right to the throne as well. Ur a Starlight, aftr all
Brad: ... With all due respect, Grandmama, I don't think I can. Peepers' boss has a really bad case of cancer and it wouldn't be easy to convince to him quit his job anyhow. Back then, I would've wanted it but...I don't wanna go back to that person I once was, being seflish and such...
Grandma: I understand, bt seeing how much u care for Peepers n ur baby, I knw u will do a good job n be a good king. Ur not ur grandpapa, sweetcakes, n u don't hv to worry abt becoming him. Bt take ur time, maybe talk to ur wife? Ask his opinion first, then u decide
Brad: ... Alright then. I'll ask him first.
Grandma: :) Good. I'll let u get bk to ur wife n child. Just think abt it, hv a talk with Peepers, n then decide. U hv plenty of time before u let me knw ur decision, coz we need to arrange for ur grandpapa's funeral, so let me knw aftr then
Brad: (nod)
Grandma: [stood up along with Brad n hugged him tight] I'm so glad ur home, my little Bradley
Brad: (hugged her back) Me too.
Grandma: [give him a peck on the cheek n took her leave]
